Safe folder
So you have to put together a safe folder of informational documents to keep just in case the Department of Children and Family Services shows up at your door. Apparently, well intentioned people have been known to call DCFS to accuse parents of transgender children of child abuse. My friends in the adoption circle will understand how oppressive it is when I say it feels like I have to put together another dossier. They even ask for a home study -- two words that I thought I would never hear again. Ugh.

I have had a lot of cases referred to CPS (admittedly not for the transgender reason). It sounds like this organization is really scaring you, and I'm sad about that. I don't see anything wrong with having stuff together, but please don't lose your mind about CPS investigating you. If it happens, truly, they will investigate and that's as far as it will go. As soon as they see what kind of parent you are, it will be an open and shut case. Be prepared, but don't over react. And certainly don't lose sleep over it. I think another home study is just paranoid and ridiculous! Have they actually told you that children have been removed from the home for this??? Just sounds like fearmongering to me...
